I really enjoyed reading all your process thoughts on the sweater (I hadn’t found you yet when you posted this before)…how you weren’t satisfied and put it away and then figured out how to make it into a sweater that would work. I think your modifications are brilliant and it looks great on your shape! And I really admire that you were able to go back to it and finish it up. Although I’m not surprised! ;)

Thanks also for the warning on KnitPicks Shine…I had not heard that before!

that’s an amazing sweater rescue/renovation! it looks really pretty now with that ribbing off. lovely neckline and the hooks are a brilliant idea. i think it looks good on your shape especially with just a few hooks done up at the top.

Your figure is quite similar to mine – you’re smaller though. But I have those larger shoulders and bust, with narrow hips.

Nice sweater – very bobblish. I like the short rows.

I have this terrible habit of taking so long to finish things that I have invariably learned a lot from OTHER projects before I finish the first one. It often means ripping or living with a little dissatisfaction. It’s getting better though.

It’s so interesting to see what a huge difference the opening makes – it has turned into such an elegant garment. I love the idea of the hooks and eyes, perfect way to stop any gaping. Go you!

What a smart way to fix this sweater! It looks lovely now, and suits you. I have a very similar shape, so I agree with your assessment of what works and what doesn’t for sweaters. And this one works!

I think my oldest WIP is a scribble lace wrap from over a year and a half ago. I simply got bored with it.

I think it looks pretty darn nice on you. I think your modifications were right on target too. It makes the whole sweater seem a little lighter and more refined – just like you :)

The front is much better with your modifications. I ribbing looks too heavy.

Put masking tape over the hooks when you wash it. It shouldn’t be so sticky that it will hurt the yarn.

Gorgeous! The first version, I thought well, okay, but the new-and-improved is GORGEOUS and lovely and trim and dressy looking. It suits The Girls very well, I think.
