First "In The Wild" Sighting!

My first In the Wild spotting of the new issue!

Thanks everyone, you’ve been so kind about my Float Stole. I have this feeling that I am supposed to be nonchalant about this (Interweave? Me? Of course! Naturally!), but actually, I’ve been geeking out a bit over the whole thing. In fact, it is MUCH easier to deal with the topic here in the on-line realm than in real life, where I have a tendency to avoid eye contact, stammer, and get quite hot in the face – even with knitterly people! There are certain situations that tend to expose me for the introvert that I am, no matter how I try to ignore/hide/obscure that little detail.  I’ve mostly avoided the forums and such, though I will admit to a somewhat obsessive checking of my Ravelry design page – the queuing and those tiny little hearts warm mine right up! I so appreciate your feedback. A few folks have already cast on in different sizes and I’m thrilled as I very much wanted to this to be a flexible pattern – a jumping off point for some really lovely pieces – and I’m so excited about seeing different takes on it. Design (such as it is), is a slow process for me, but ironically, this project was probably the quickest so far from idea to finished article though I still can’t quite believe that I knit it during the time that I did – thanks very much to my tolerant husband!

It’s been a busy couple weeks and I’ve just returned from a quick weekend in northern VA, getting together with friends for an awesome birthday celebration – I have a que full of half-written posts – and a wheel that I’m missing, especially since it’s Handspun February and despite all my good intentions and a very pretty bit of silk that I also have yet to blog, I have not touched it – and am not likely to until I take a break from knitting (swatches and swatches and more swatches!)…. But mostly today I just wanted to say thanks for your kind words & support. You all are pretty awesome.

You are welcome. We are very proud of you. It’s not always easy to accept praise and compliments, but get used to it, my friend, I see much more of that in your future.

Oh my goodness, Mel, of course you have a right to be thrilled! It’s a gorgeous pattern and it’s IK (which is still my favorite publication)! And happy belated birthday! :) Feel free to remain on cloud nine for however long you like ;)

I totally agree with Connie- cloud nine is a great place to be! I opened up my issue of IK, and had to run to the other room to show my hubby what you’d designed. His response was “cool”. The seal of husband approval- :D

We’re all gushing right along with you! I cannot believe your IK design is in the one issue that isn’t showing up in my mailbox (time to make another call, perhaps)! Congratulations!!

Nonchalant – are you kidding? I’d be singing it from the rooftops if it was me! It’s a great achievement and a really beautiful pattern – enjoy this moment to the full.
