Introducing

Posted on | April 6, 2009 | 7 Comments

My other half has some very fun side projects going on. The MOST fun of which I will leave a secret for another day, though if you blog-stalk him I imagine it would come out. The second most fun involves as much creative muscle-flexing, collaboration, and skill (yay for all of the above!) as the first, but this one you can get a taste for right here on my website – Or, if you hop on over to TrailingYarn.com. I’ve followed Elizabeth for a long time because of her spinning & knitting prowess, her great writing & sense of humor (and the hiking, of course the hiking!), and Tad worked with her way back last Autumn to save her blog from the evil hackers & then again after the new year to give it a whole new look. And look, I got a present! How does that work?  I think that this should be part of every arrangement he embarks on, however, and have asked him to please keep this in mind.

Treats from E!

Treats from the generous E – That’s some very luscious silk over there on the left, which I’ve just started to spin!

More recently, and for which I got NO present despite all my instrumental support and valuable feedback (ha!), is his very own spanking new website, just launched yesterday!

Introducing ThaddeusHunt.com!

I’m incredibly proud of him & have to say that he is amazingly patient (speaking from experience as my requests & re-do’s on the details of Purling Plans were enough to try a saint). He has become quite a WordPress whiz & may be able to offer services & guidance related to initial builds or migrations – new themes & overhauls, disaster recovery & tweaking, and is very accessible & affable (for more information and how to contact him, click here). Ok, side plug over,  almost. This is actually quite pertinent, because I wouldn’t have a website without him. And an awful lot of wonderful friendships and opportunities (like my first designing efforts) have sprung up as a direct result. He encouraged me to start Purling Plans (in fact, I do believe it was his idea in the first place – great idea Tad!), promised to be my tech support, and has been so incredibly awesome and patient. I have learned a lot with his guidance and am finally capable of doing some tweaking on my own, but my own site overhaul last fall would have been completely out of my reach. Basically, he rocks. And I am really, really fortunate to have him.

P.S. Also thanks to Tad’s perseverance, I’m finally on the Twitter-thinger-merbandwagon, look me up if you like!

Glad you’re enjoying your treats! I figured that for all the stress I was putting your husband through, you deserved a little something of the non-green nature! ;o)

Off to check out Tad’s site!

I’m thinking he’s a keeper. :) Ah–you fell down the Twitter hole…I think I need to continue to stay away!

Every single time I hear that song, it makes me smile. Probably should just keep the darn thing on repeat–life would be happier!
